Pike Hill Olympia's Twins

On Saturday Olympia had one ewe lamb and one ram lamb.  Both are very cute and the family is doing well.  Once all the lambs are on the ground we will decide who we are keeping and who we have for sale.  There will be lambs, adults, and maybe even yearlings on the sales list.  I'd like to keep my flock numbers around the 20 mark, which is a manageable number for me.  I have a starter flock or two to put together.  If you are interested in a lamb and are looking for anything in particular, make sure you let me know what you are looking for.  It is going to be so hard to choose!  There are 8 more ewes to lamb so I will keep you posted.

Corridale/Shetland Twins

My Corriedale cross had twins yesterday morning.  Bahama is their sire.  So they are a Shetland/Corriedale/Dorset/Finn mix.  The white lamb is a ram lamb and the black and white spotted one is a ewe lamb.  Unfortunately mom Hershey rejected the ewe lamb so she is a bottle baby.

Isn't she adorable?

Cheviot/Shetland twin ewe lambs for SALE

My Cheviot had twin ewe lambs on Monday.  Both of these pretty lambs will be for sale.  The larger seems more Cheviot in her characteristics and the smaller one seemed to retain more Shetland traits.  Both are white and are crossbreeds from registered parents, but can not be registered since they are a mix.  The are for sale and are available for pick up after weaning in June.  The are $125 each or $225 for the pair.  They would great for crossbreeding flocks, commercial flocks, spinners, pets, or 4-H.

Lambing has Started!

First Lamb at Mapleton Farm 2010

Twin Springs Cotton Candy and Minwawe Bahama are the proud parents of this beautiful krunet ewe lamb.  Pardon the shadow the flash cast...her ears are much smaller than they appear in this photo.  A great start to lambing...I will keep you posted, there will be more very soon!
